FAQ: Can a Record Exceed the Maximum Size During a Sequence of Multiple Operations?

Detail

One client request to the server can perform multiple operations on a record (for example, with the Python client’s client.operate_ordered() method) which may cause the record to exceed the server’s write-block-size at some point even though the final size of the record is smaller than write-block-size. Will this cause an error?

Answer

This will not cause an error. The record is not checked against the write-block-size until the sequence of operations has completed and the final form of the record is being written to storage.
