FAQ - Does XDR ship restored records?

Detail

When restoring a namespace using asrestore to a cluster that is acting as an XDR source, do those records get shipped to remote XDR DCs?

Answer

Yes. To an Aerospike cluster, a restore done with asrestore is like any other client write. If the namespace being restored is enabled for remote shipping, the restored records will be shipped to all configured destinations. Metrics showing XDR throughput such as ‘CUR THROUGHPUT’ in asadm will increase accordingly.
