In the main Aerospike logs, you may find an error message that has the following:
read_header: dev /dev/sdc: unable to read: rv -1 error Input/output error
This means there was an error reading the SSD and is an indication of hardware failure. While Aerospike software will attempt to wear an SSD as evenly as possible, drive failure may still occur.
The remedy is to replace the drive.
