As we are observing, an increased growth in keys, as all records are stored with ttl of 300 seconds, it should expire, but number of records keeps on growing

All of your keys are not stored with a ttl of 300 as you can see from the ttl histogram you have provided. Appears you have two different classes of ttls being stored, one around 864 * 15 = 12960 and the other at above 864 * 100 = 86400. Half of your records have a ttl above or equal to 864 * 5 = 4320.
