Starting a node from a snapshot

Hi, As it states in the manual, AS restore from backup operation simply fires all records back to a cluster. To restore the entire cluster may I use disk snapshots instead?

Lets say I have 3 node’s cluster and I want to start a fresh copy aside. The obvious way in cloud environments is to take a snapshot of each node’s disk and start 3 new nodes from those snapshots. Will it work?

As a follow up question: what is the best way to start a node which was down for a while?

Yes.

This depends greatly on your use case. If most of the data on a down node would have changed while it was down then you could possibly benefit from zeroizing the disks and let migrations refill it (since the node is empty, only one direction of what would normally be a two way migration is required.

Tank you, it worked.
