Aerospike AMI - AWS install does not have ssd devices

by rfox » Thu Jul 10, 2014 2:55 pm

I installed on AWS using the Aerospike AMI and chose the default m1.xlarge. I thought this would have 2 SSD’s. All went well but the host does not seem to have /dev/sdb and /dev/sdc. What am I missing?

Thanks,

Randy

You should be able to add the volumes/ssd as you are configuring the instance.

From the AWS EC2 console :

  1. Click Edit Storage
  2. Click Add Volume
  3. Select Type “Instance Store 0” for your first sad and “Instance Store 1” for your second sad.
  4. Click Review and Launch and continue with your setup.
  5. Run sudo fdisk -l to get name of your sad devices. (/dev/xvdb …)
